Awareness Workshop on CPC’s Fourth Plenary Session Held for Sri Lankan Political Party Representatives

An awareness workshop on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held yesterday (2) at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute in Colombo. Representatives from Sri Lankan political parties and various civil society organizations took part in the event.

The workshop featured a delegation from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, including Mr. Kang Shuai, Deputy Director-General of the Information Research Center; Mr. Jiang Wen, Assistant Professor at the Party School of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee (Beijing Administrative Institute); Ms. Zhang Guifeng, Director of the Information Research Center; Ms. Zhao Tianming, Translator and Deputy Director of the Center for International Exchanges; and Ms. Liu Yishuai, Officer of the Center for International Exchanges.

The session aimed to brief Sri Lankan stakeholders on the CPC’s proposed framework for China’s upcoming Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), which outlines strategies for advancing modernization under the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Representatives from several Sri Lankan political parties attended, including the United National Party, Samagi Jana Balawegaya, National Freedom Front, and People’s United Front. Participants from a range of organizations were also present.
